Tracy DeRuyter

My name is Tracy DeRuyter and I am the Assistant Director at our Caledonia location. In addition to working for Milestones, I am also a Team Leader with Tastefully Simple. Prior to my career at Milestones, I attended Washtenaw Community College for a degree in Business Administration which I put to use working in Retail Management for 15 years. I had the privilege of being a store manager for The Bombay Company, Gymboree and Abercrombie & Fitch during that time. My husband, Doug, is a teacher at Kettle Lake Elementary and we have three incredible children, Jake, Owen and Ella. Once our family started to grow, we decided to relocate to Caledonia and I made to decision to leave the retail industry to stay home with our children. In the fall of 2004, my sister came to me with the idea of opening Milestones Child Development Center. With her experience as a Preschool Teacher and her passion for the education of young children, I jumped at the opportunity to be a part of the company and have been by her side ever since. I have absolutely loved watching her dream of Milestones CDC become a reality while, at the same time, becoming a leader in the greater Grand Rapids area for early childhood education. I love working with the Milestones’ families and watching the children learn, laugh and grow year after year. Being in this field and working at Milestones has been more fulfilling than I could’ve imagined. I am honored to be a part of this company.
