Young 5s

Kindergarten

Milestones proudly offers a unique, flexible Young 5s program tailored for a versatile range of children. The program effectively blends key components of our play-based curriculum with foundational elements of a more traditional school structure to provide a bridge to Kindergarten. The program is ideal for children who may benefit from a continuation of prior Preschool or Pre-K programs, who are below the age threshold for public school Kindergarten-entry, and/or who can further develop in maturity and social- and/or cognitive-readiness for success in Kindergarten.

Program curriculum immerses children in all facets of development, including socio-emotional, cognitive, and physical. A strong emphasis on language development is incorporated into daily experiences to foster written and verbal as well as pre-reading skills. Number concepts and problem-solving skills are developed using a variety of materials and authentic experiences.

The Young 5s program is structured with a typical school-day schedule with wrap-around care available. Class-size is typically 20-24 children with a low ratio of 1 teacher for every 12 students.
