Infant Room

  • Ages: 6 weeks to approximately 12/16 months
  • Transitions occur as our staff and parents feel the child is emotionally and physically ready to make the move
  • 12 child capacity (4 behind half wall and 8 in main room) This keeps immobile infants separate from mobile infants
  • Ratio: 1 teacher to every 4 children
  • Primary caregivers: children bond to one main teacher
  • Separate sleeping area
  • Infant food kept in classroom refrigerator (at some locations)

Children in the Infant room begin to learn and develop through play in the following areas:

Children in the infant room are working their fine motor and gross motor development and practice these skills in a number of different ways such as manipulatives, rattles and pulling themselves up. They are beginning to recognize color, shape and texture differences and similarities.

They are starting to recognize familiar people and places including themselves. These and many other developmental milestones will be explored by our infant room staff
