Cook/Bus Driver

Milestones Child Development Center is seeking qualified candidates to join its team working with children as a Cook and Bus Driver at our Caledonia Location. Ideal candidates will be caring, dependable, flexible, enthusiastic, motivated, and work well in a team-oriented environment.

Additional Information

Responsibilities Include:

  • Reading, reviewing, and abiding the staff handbook and policies held by Milestones Child Development Center
  • Attend staff meeting and trainings as scheduled
  • Prepares nutritious meals and snacks for enrolled children; prepares substitutes items for children on restricted diets
  • Practices safe food handling techniques in food preparation and storage
  • Keeps a daily record of menus and notifies staff and parents of substitutions to menu.
  • Maintains a safe and sanitary kitchen, pantry and storage areas
  • Washes items used for food preparation
  • Maintain a clean and orderly room
  • Distributes food to classrooms
  • Provide each child’s parent, information of individual activities on a daily basis
  • Ensures adherence to Child Care Food Program guidelines and all public health regulations regarding food storage and preparation
    • Ensures the safety and well-being of the children and adults being transported.
    • Ensures that the communication device (e.g. two-way radio or cell phone) is in proper working order before each trip
    • Ensures the bus always has sufficient fuel
    • Follows safe and efficient bus routes to ensure children will not be on the bus for more than one hour
    • Operates bus in such a way that road and safety regulations are always followed
    • Ensures that all children are in age appropriate child safety restraints at all times during transportation
    • Ensures that child/staff ratios are maintained on the bus and follows safe bus loading and unloading procedures
    • Follows procedures to guarantee that no child is left alone on the bus without adult supervision, including insuring that child have departed bus at the end of all bus routes
    • Keeps bus clean and free of debris; follows bus cleaning procedures

Proof of negative T.B. test

Copies of school transcripts or training hours

CPR/First Aid Certified

Valid Chauffeurs License, automobile registration and insurance

No more than 6 active points on license as determined by Secretary of State

Food Prep experience preferred
